Pacific West Land has a strong sense of responsibility to the community. In 2000, Bruce Galloway founded the Galloway Family Foundation, giving charitably and supporting programs in various capacities.

For each acre of land we develop, we strive to conserve at least 10 acres. Through a partnership with the Nature Conservancy, we have funded the purchase of 13,138 acres in the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve in the Mayan rainforest of Mexico for permanent conservation.

Along with the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island, Bruce has created the Savings Group Microfinance project in Uganda. Working with the Minister of Finance, the project aims to create opportunities to save money and further the financial welfare of people in communities without formal banking systems.

In the field of medical advancement, the Foundation supports Alzheimer’s research through Johns Hopkins Department of Pathology, and cancer research through the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
